Police in Northern Ireland are investigating after three related people were found dead inside a family home in the Old Cullybackey Road area of Ballymena, Co Antrim. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said the deaths are currently being treated as unexplained, while stressing there is no ongoing risk to the wider public.
Officers were called to the property after receiving a report expressing concern for the occupants of the home. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service also attended the scene, but all three people were pronounced dead there. Detectives and forensic officers have since remained at the property, carrying out examinations and gathering evidence as part of the ongoing enquiry into what happened.
Circumstances still being established
The PSNI said its officers are treating the three deaths as unexplained while investigators work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. Police have indicated they expect to release a further update in due course as the investigation progresses.
Family being supported
The PSNI confirmed that next of kin have been informed of the deaths and are now being supported by specially trained officers as the investigation continues.
Appeal for information
Investigators have appealed to anyone with information about the incident, or with relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area, to come forward and contact police as enquiries continue.
