The Trump Train is accelerating, and it’s gaining speed FAST. According to a new Morning Consult/Politico poll, 45th U.S. President and MAGA King Donald Trump is leading the Republican 2024 presidential primary field by an impressive 30 points.
This means that if the primary were held today, 53 percent of potential primary voters would support Donald Trump, according to an RSBN report. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, another candidate favored to run for president in 2024, was in second place with 23 percent.
That’s a pretty big gap, and it shows just how influential Trump still is. After all, Trump hasn’t been in office for the past 18 months.
But while it’s great to see Trump and DeSantis dominate the survey, it’s also disheartening to see RINOs such as Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney still gaining the support of GOP voters.
As per Morning Consult, the survey was conducted on July 15-17 “among a representative sample of 2,005 registered U.S. voters, with an unweighted margin of error of plus or minus two percentage points.”
Interestingly enough, the recent poll also showed that 72 percent of Democrat primary voters said that they would support Biden, down 11 percent from October. Among Biden’s supporters, 52 percent said that they were absolutely certain of their choice.
Among Trump’s supporters, 66 percent said that they were absolutely certain of their support of the MAGA King.
Donald Trump has not formally announced whether he will be running for president in 2024. However, during an interview with the New York Magazine, Trump stated that his mind had already been made up.
“I think a lot of people would not even run if I did that because, if you look at the polls, they don’t even register. Most of these people. And I think that you would actually have a backlash against them if they ran. People want me to run,” Trump said.
