President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, is heartbroken and in shock over her mother, Ivana’s death.
In an Instagram post on Thursday afternoon, Ivanka wrote, “Heartbroken by the passing of my mother. Mom was brilliant, charming, passionate, and wickedly funny. She modeled strength, tenacity, and determination in her every action. She lived life to the fullest — never forgoing an opportunity to laugh and dance.”
“I will miss her forever and will keep her memory alive in our hearts always,” the former first daughter stated alongside pictures of her and Ivana hugging each other and kissing her mom on the nose.
Ivana Trump, the ex-wife of former President Trump and the mother of Ivanka, Eric, and Don Jr., died Thursday in her New York home. She was 73.
“She was discovered at the bottom of a staircase in the home at 12:40 p.m. and authorities believe she suffered cardiac arrest. The official cause of death has not been determined,” the New York Post reports.
Police are also investigating the possibility of Ivana falling down the stairs fatally, although the New York Medical Examiner’s Office is yet to determine the official cause of death.
Ivana worked as a model in the early ’70s and met her future husband, real estate mogul Donald Trump, in 1976. They married a year later and got divorced in 1992.
Being married to Trump had its share of challenges, but Ivana shined through New York’s high society and often found herself on magazine and newspaper covers.
“You couldn’t walk down the street without people stopping her. Not everyone loved Donald Trump, everyone loved Ivana Trump,” her friend and former publicist Todd Shapiro told the New York Post.
It was a life well lived. Rest in peace, Ivana Trump.
