A man in Peru was coming home from a two-week-long-stint working in the field when his dog fell from his fourth-floor apartment.
It had been a tiring two weeks for John Alexander Palomino Bendives after working in the field. All he had in mind was to relax in an apartment that he shares with his mother and four dogs.
Bendives was outside the apartment building with his girlfriend waiting eagerly for the door to open. The couple weren’t the only ones excited to enter their home; so did their four dogs.
Up on the fourth floor, Bendives’ dog named Mina was looking down over the railing with the other pups.
Bearing too much excitement to see her owner, Mina either slipped, miscalculated the distance, or lost her balance and began falling to the street below. Luckily, adrenaline took over as Bendives looked up saw that his beloved dog was hurtling to the ground.
He caught her. Perfectly.
“She was okay, unharmed,” Bendives told The Dodo. “Mina was happy and grateful, as you can see in the video. She didn’t stop wagging her tail out of happiness.”
After avoiding what could have been a traumatizing event in their lives, Bendives and his family are planning to revamp their apartment for their dogs, especially for Mina.
“We are looking at putting up a mesh barrier on the roof so that they can continue to sit up there, but without the risk of falling again,” he told The Dodo.
“I love my pets very much,” Bendives said. “They always receive me with a lot of love and emotion. The time I spend at home, I try to spend as much time as possible with them.”
Just goes to show that even dogs require a confirmation of love from their furparents sometimes.
Other doggos might just “take a leap of faith.”
