If there’s one thing Hillary Clinton really knows, it’s losing elections. And now she’s issued a warning to the Democratic Party.
The Dems are getting way too woke for their own good.
While speaking with the Financial Times’ US national editor, Edward Luce, Clinton was asked about her party and if she would consider running for president again in 2024. Luce also mentioned that the Democratic Party seems to be “losing focus by elevating activist causes” that “are relevant only to a small minority.”
Luce specifically mentioned the “transgender debate.” He also asked “What sense does it make to depict JK Rowling as a fascist?” referring to the extreme criticism thrown at the Harry Potter author after she spoke out about her stance on transgender and biological women.
Surprisingly, Clinton agreed, saying that the United States is close to losing its democracy. Hillary then noted that Democrats should actually be focusing their efforts right now on winning the next election.
“We are standing on the precipice of losing our democracy, and everything that everybody else cares about then goes out the window. Look, the most important thing is to win the next election. The alternative is so frightening that whatever does not help you win should not be a priority,” she said.
Clinton herself mentioned several Democratic causes that she deemed too much. She mentioned the widely derided far-left efforts “defund the police,” according to the New York Post.
“You need accountable measures. But you also need policing. It doesn’t even pass the common-sense politics test not to believe that. Some positions are so extreme on both the right and the left that they retreat to their corners. Politics should be the art of addition, not subtraction,” Clinton said.
Just imagine that. The Democratic Party is messing up so much right now, Hillary Clinton is starting to spew truths.
